A 19-year-old Augusta woman who was killed in a two-car
accident on Mike Padgett Highway on Saturday was pulling out
of a trailer park when another car rammed into her, according to
police.
Richmond County sheriff's Deputy Mike Logue said Bridget
Lowe, of Bennock Mill Road, failed to yield when she tried to
turn onto the highway from Castle Pines Trailer Park. The deputy
said 76-year-old Kazuko Swint, who was driving north on Mike
Padgett Highway in a 1994 Ford Tempo, slammed into Ms.
Lowe's 1993 Ford Mustang.
Ms. Lowe was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident at
about 1 p.m. by Richmond County Deputy Coroner Charlena
Graham.
Ms. Swint was in fair condition at Medical College of Georgia
Hospital on Sunday afternoon, a hospital spokeswoman said.
No charges are being filed, Deputy Logue said.
